Patrick Harrington, owner of Kindness Yoga, closed down nine studios.
The closures came after receiving complaints from a number of Black and transgender yoga instructors. One of their major complaints came from inconsistent responses by the HR. Harrington, living in Costa Rica, admits to becoming “disconnected” from the concerns of his team.

Carlin Romano, Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and a member of the National Books Critics Circle Board, is facing pressures to resign after emailing his concerns concerning the wording of a statement in support of BLM.
The NBCC sought to make a statement in reaction to recent calls for social justice. The statement offers some strong claims. For instance, white publishers must acknowledge their “culpability in this system of erasure.”

Former VP of ABC News, Barbara Fedida, got the boot after accusations of abusive and racist statements surfaced.
To get a flavor of Fedida’s demeanor, this NYT article notes a wage dispute. In response to a salary proposal, she scoffed saying the candidate was not being asked to “pick cotton.”
