Dreyer’s Ice Cream announced that they will be changing the name of their Eskimo Pie ice cream.

In a press release, Dreyer’s reaffirmed their commitment to change.

We are committed to being a part of the solution on racial equality, and recognize the term is derogatory. This move is part of a larger review to ensure our company and brands reflect our people values.

What values might that be exactly?

How do these brand changes reduce police brutality or racism?

You would think a complete revision of its company hiring practices or a commitment to set up manufacturing among impoverished communities would signal real change.

But do not worry! These delicious treats will still be available at your local corner store/food desert. The only thing this rebranding offers impoverished communities is diabetes. Hard pass.
